BLEPHAROPLASTY
(permanent removal of excessive skin around the eyes)

What anaesthesia is used during the surgery?
Only local anaesthesia, that is more than enough to make you feel comfortable and painless.
When can I be back to normal life?
For the first week we would strongly recommend you have home rest. You may experience some uncomfortable feelings from swelling and potential bruising. It is not recommended to drive a car during the first week as well as wear eye lenses. You will see the doctor for follow up consultation 5-7 days after the surgery to remove the stitches. Total recovery may take up to 14 days.
Will I have a visible scar?
The technique what our doctor uses helps hide any signs of surgical procedure. For the first couple months you will see very thin pink line at the upper eyelid or under your bottom lashes. It can easily be covered by makeup. After 6 months the scar will bleach a lot and almost disappear.
What are the contraindications?
- Infectious diseases at the eye area
- Cancer or chemotherapy
- Blood diseases
- Some medication (please, consult with the doctor)
Blepharoplasty is a minor surgical procedure what can bring major changes in your look.
What advantages can I get from the treatment?
The surgery can be provided on upper eyelids to remove excess skin and visually open the eyes, resolve the problem of double heavy eyelid. Lower eyelids blepharoplasty is usually requested to reduce puffiness and bagginess, get rid of wrinkles, dark circles and tired-look eyes as result. Also, the treatment can be provided on upper and lower eyelids at the same time.
How long does the surgery take?
The treatment starts with prolonged consultation with our experienced surgeon with full health assessment and discussion of patient’s expectations and future results. Preparation for the surgery normally takes around a week to receive blood test results and any additional tests if it is needed.
The next step is surgery. It takes less than 2 hours for the full treatment, but we would like you to stay with us 2 additional hours to be sure that you are in a safe stage to go home. You will be not able to drive or leave the clinic alone so you can invite an accompanying person to come with you or meet you when the surgery is done
